Extensometers are instruments that monitor the variation in distance between two or more points along the installed axis. Multiple anchor types are available (groutable, hydraulic and mechanical) depending on the field characteristics in which they are expected to be installed. As a multipoint instrument they can be anchored at various depths within a borehole providing the capability to monitor displacement over multiple zones of movement.
As a manually operated tape extensometer they can monitor distance variations between two anchor points up to 50 meters apart.
