Located in the heart of Chicoutimi, The Rio-Tinto Alcan aluminium plant in Jonquière must dispose of its production waste in a very rigorous manner to protect the citizens and the adjacent environment. It has a land on which dikes are erected that retain corrosive bauxite discharges from the plant, which is why they have requested GKM Consultants to automate data retrieval on more than 100 piezometers and four soil compaction measurement systems.
This is also where we installed our first LoadSensing data acquisition systems. The implementation of this brand new wireless system has proved to be a remarkable success and we cover a total area of more than 3Km2 of land without any problem.
