Load cells installation for dam rehabilitation program | Chute-des-Passes Dam

As part of Rio Tinto Alcan's Dam Chute-des-Passes Rehabilitation Program, GKM Consultants was mandated to supply and supervise the installation of load cells with a capacity of over 6000kN in 2016. These cells equipped with 6 vibrating strings were installed on the multi-strand anchors in the central part of the dam to ensure its stability. Subsequently, the cells were connected to a central auscultation system where all the dam's instrumentation is routed.
