As part of the construction of a 400 mm line under Thimens Boulevard, Martin Avenue, Le Bourdon Avenue and Le Mesurier Avenue between Henri-Bourassa and Gouin Boulevard, the contractor, Pronex Excavation, mandated GKM Consultants to monitor the noise and vibrations generated by drilling and excavation work.
A monitoring program was developed and a follow-up throughout the work was carried out using Instantel seismographs and Class 1 01dB DUO and FUSION sound level meters. These autonomous acquisition systems on solar panels were able to monitor in real time the noise and vibration levels generated by the work on the neighbouring residences.
